The Clinical Hypnotherapy Certification Council of America (CHCC)
Healthy Hypnotherapy is an official certifying body of the Clinical Hypnotherapy Certification Council of America (CHCC). Our teachers are also certified examiners and instructors of the CHCC which means that you are not only benefiting from their skill and expertise as Clinical Hypnotherapists and skilled clinicians, you are also being prepared to pass the national written certification exam throughout the learning process. The oral and written examinations are given by Healthy Hypnotherapy Institute upon completing your 200 or 300 required hours of training.

Certifications distinguish the seasoned clinician from the lay hypnotist, providing the certified practitioner the necessary and clinically appropriate skills and training to operate as an independent hypnotherapist, backed by the Healthy Hypnotherapy Institute of California and the Clinical Hypnotherapy Certification Council of America.

Certification Levels

Certified Hypnotherapist (CHT)
National Certification Level One

• 200 Hours of training through Healthy Hypnotherapy Institute's clinical hypnotherapy Certification Program
• Completion of all required coursework, protocols and examinations with a minimum GPA of 2.00
• successful completion of the oral and written certification examination
• All fees paid

Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist (CCH)
National Certification Level Two

• 300 Hours of training through Healthy Hypnotherapy Institute's clinical hypnotherapy Certification Program (initial 200 hours) plus an additional 100 hours of training through coursework, seminars or through the HHI Assistantship program
• Completion of all required coursework, protocols and examinations with a minimum GPA of 2.00
• Successful completion of the oral and written certification examination
• All fees paid

Certification Requirements and Membership

Upon completing the requirements for either National Certification Level One and/or Two, The certified practitioner becomes a member of the Healthy Hypnotherapy Clinical Network for 2 years.

Maintaining membership with the Clinical Hypnotherapy Certification Council of America (CHCC):

• Renewals are due every 2 years on the month of the original certification
• All fees are current and the biennial certification fee is paid to the CHCC
• 30 Continuing Education Hours in Clinical Hypnotherapy are required prior to the 2 year renewal. These hours may be obtained from any of the following:
  • Any HHI Training Course, Workshop or Seminar
  • Any hours accrued through Assisting an HHI training, event or seminar
  • Any Courses taught with Marilyn Gordon's Center for Hypnotherapy
  • Any Courses, seminars, conventions or CEs from any training or sponsored event through The Milton H. Erickson Foundation

The HHI Clinical Hypnotherapy Certification Program: An Overview

Our Certification Program has been carefully designed and offered to professional individuals, clinicians, graduate students and undergraduates in the fields of Clinical Psychology, Psychiatry, Social Work, Therapy, Dentistry, Nursing, Massage, Coaching, EMTs, EMDR, the Medical Profession, Firefighters, Police, Educators and those individuals with life experience who meet the Institute's registration requirements.

The Clinical Hypnotherapy Certification Program consists of the following courses:

Course Sequence (200 Hour Certified Hypnotherapist Tract)

1. Clinical Hypnotherapy Seminar: An Introduction to Clinical Hypnotherapy
   (14 Hours)
   (Required as the first course; Students enrolling into the Clinical Hypnotherapy Program must take both days: Saturday and Sunday. This course is also approved for CE Credits for MFTs and LCSWs.)
2. Clinical Hypnotherapy Approaches & Application (80 Hours - 4 weekends)
   (Can be taken in any order once the Clinical Hypnotherapy Seminar has been completed)
3. Ericksonian Hypnotherapy (60 Hours - 3 weekends)
   (Can be taken in any order once the Clinical Hypnotherapy Seminar has been completed)
4. Medical Hypnotherapy (60 Hours - 3 weekends)
   (Can be taken in any order once the Clinical Hypnotherapy Seminar has been completed)
5. Register for the Oral and Written Certification Examination Weekend.

Advanced Seminars (Advanced Training for the 300 Hour Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist Tract)

1. Choose from any of the advanced course to attain an additional 100 hours of classroom training towards the Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist (CCH) Certification.
2. Choose from any of our advanced workshops and seminars for specialization in a particular area of hypnotherapy training. These hours can also count towards fulfillment of your additional 100 CHCC hours.
